StoryMIKEL OBI FLOWN TO ENGLAND FOR SURGERY

John Mikel Obi has featured and started all the 270 minutes of Tianjin’s first three games of the new season before he was flown to London for abdominal surgery.

The Super Eagles and Tianjin TEDA captain, has been out of the last three Chinese Super League matches because of an abdominal strain and has been announced to be injured for three weeks, according to a report on Sports Enorth.

Having appeared last in April 2nd, Mikel Obi went through a traditional Chinese acupuncture in May, in anassurance to be fit for the Chinese Super League clash against Chongqing

DangdaiLifan FC, but he has now grown impatient with local methods and is set to meet one of Europe’s best surgeons.

It was not stated how much Chelsea are/were involved, but it can be deduced that Mikel has chosen to surgery to clear up the problem.

Assuredly, the surgery has been carried out, as he confirmed on his Instagram account some hours ago.

The English Premier League champions are always set and willing to help, and with at least a month long rehab awaiting Mikel, he is very likely to be available for Nigeria’s next match — Chelsea will no doubt make Cobham available for his use if he so chooses.

“Mikel has not been featuring in our matches for three consecutive weeks now as he has gone back to the United Kingdom to get set for a surgical treatment, which also means that he will miss the next three league games,” the report said.

This makes the ,a href="http://dailypost.ng/2017/04/27/injured-mikel-obi-flies-england-surgery/">former Chelsea midfielder a major doubt for the Super Eagles camping in Corsica, France next month. Mikel has found the net once in three Chinese Super League appearances, since joining on a free transfer from Chelsea in January.
